          HGV Apprentice Technician - Elgin

           

          Elgin Truck & Van Centre ltd. are now recruiting the following Apprenticeship at our Elgin workshop.

           

          This is a fantastic opportunity if you are looking to pursue a career as a Vehicle Technician with a view to becoming a competent and fully trained Technician with an NVQ/City & Guilds Qualification. We believe in growing and developing our own talent and as an Imperial Apprentice you will be given full in-house and manufacturer training to enable you to become the best that you can be.

           

          What Will You Be Doing?
          Over the next 3 years as you become a qualified HGV Service Technician, you will:

           

          • Learn to service vehicles – carrying out checks/maintain vehicles according to the manufacturers’ guidelines.
          • Learn to repair and replace faulty parts and components.
          • Advise about required repairs to the service department and to customers.
          • Produce time estimates for repairs and maintenance to be completed.
          • Maintain repair and service records on the in-house computer system and for customers.
           

          The Apprentice Programme will ensure that you are trained to learn how to undertake the repairs/servicing of commercial vehicles; detect and diagnose any additional faults for further repairs; and ensure that all work is completed safely, complying with manufacturers’ and industry guidelines.

           

          Who Are We Looking for?

          As an Apprentice with ETVC Ltd. you will need to:

           

          • Have a keen interest in HGV/LCV/PCV vehicles and be able to follow instructions
          • Be enthusiastic, committed, and confident with an analytical and methodical way of thinking
          • Be highly motivated with an eye for detail.
          • Be driven by your own initiative & an excellent communicator with the ability to maintain positive relationships.
          • A minimum grade C / 4 in English and Maths is preferred.
           

          We are committed to supporting HGV/LCV operators to the highest standards & maximising vehicle uptime. We offer a wide range of Service & Parts solutions to suit the varying needs of both individual vehicle users and Fleet operators. Our goal is to provide vehicle and aftersales packages on an efficient, value for money basis.

          HGV Technicians - Inverness and Elgin

          Salary dependant on experience
          40hrs/week plus overtime
          2 Week split shift rotation
          30 days holiday/year
           
           
          Are you a qualified HGV Technician looking for a new opportunity? Do you have previous experience of working with HGV/LCV/PSV's, ideally working in a workshop environment?
           
          Here at Elgin Truck & Van Centre Ltd. we are looking for an experienced HGV Technician to join our workshop in Elgin or Inverness on a full time permanent basis working on a split shift. We would like to hear from you if you have worked in a similar environment & understand the intricate workings of large commercial vehicles.
           

          Some of the activities that you will be involved in will include, but not limited to:

           

          • Interpret instructions from the Job card/repair order & comply with repair instructions.
          • Attend training & keep abreast of the latest technical information.
          • Accurately report and record work done and tests carried out, including immediately reporting any further work required or vehicle faults.
          • Maintain allocated work areas in a clean & tidy condition.
          • Provide information, maintain records and carry out all duties in an accurate, efficient and timely manner.
          • Enhance the image & reputation of the company whilst supporting it's commercial interests.
          • Comply with good health & safety practices, all statutory requirements, company policies and standard procedures.
          • In order for to be successful in this role, you will work well as part of a team, be a good communicator and have the ability to take on a variety of different workloads, planned or otherwise.
